We are looking at two corridors in Southend, each with a number of options. We are also considering a link between these two corridors. Please come along to our public exhibitions to find out more.
sert-west Corridor 1
Potential Park and Ride west of the Progress Road Area to Southend Victoria Station via Southend Arterial Road, Prince Avenue, Southbourne Grove/Westbourne Grove, Prittlewell Chase and Victoria Avenue, providing links between: :
- Potential Park and Ride west of the Progress Road area
- Regeneration and new developments at Progress Road Business Park
- Potential Park and Ride west of Nestuda Way serving Airport and Town Centre
- New employment areas at London Southend Airport (developed further as part of the Action Plan for the airport)
- Links to the proposed new railway station at the Airport to be established as part of the Joint Area Action Plan proposals for transport surface access
- Southend University Hospital
- Schools and colleges along Prittlewell Chase
- Possible redevelopment of Roots Hall
- Developments and work places along Victoria Avenue
- Southend Victoria Railway Station and Victoria Gateway
- Southend Travel Centre and access to the Town Centre, College and University
- Links with Central Station
- Central Seafront Area

sert-west Corridor 2
London Southend Airport to Shoeburyness Railway Station or the Garrison, via Manners Way, Eastern Avenue, (potential link with Fossets Way to serve new development areas) Royal Artillery Way, Bournes Green Chase, North Shoebury Road and Elm Road/High Street area, providing links between:
- London Southend Airport and proposed new station
- Developments to the West of London Southend Airport
- Existing Industrial Areas of Stock Road and linking Fossets farm with B&Q, Waitrose and future developments
- Proposed new football stadium including retail, football academy, hotel and conference centre
- Wellesley Hospital
- Garon Park Tennis Centre, cricket centre, golf facility and new swimming pool
- Cecil Jones College
- Temple Sutton Extended School
- Cluny Square Regeneration Area (including Health Centre for South Essex)
- Ness Road area including Asda
- Elm Road
- High street
- Shoeburyness Railway Station
- Developments south of Shoeburyness Railway Station including the new garrison development, proposed new school, health centre etc. The route could then form a circular link within Shoeburyness to join the local areas. Other possible Park and Ride sites could then be considered to provide a further incentive to make local journeys by sert
