The Council has joined with other European partners in a North West Europe transnational project called Boosting Advanced Public Transport Systems (BAPTS) and has the opportunity to learn and exchange experience with the best European systems from cities such as:

This will ensure the latest European experience from other rapid transit schemes can be taken into account and applied to sert. Integrating planning and transport decision making is key to the success of rapid transit systems and this will be a key focus of Southend's activities.
